Washington State Page

I had the honor of serving as a Washington State Page for the House of Representatives, where I gained firsthand experience in the legislative process and the workings of state government. During my time at the Capitol, I assisted elected officials, delivered messages, and participated in mock legislative sessions, developing a deeper understanding of civic engagement and public service. This opportunity strengthened my leadership, communication, and organizational skills, and inspired me to continue being an active participant in my community and beyond.

Student Council (VP)

At Kent Laboratory Academy, I significantly expanded my leadership skills in a unique learning environment. Our school had students from grades 3-12. I was part of the first generation of middle school leadership, a group of students stepping up to shape the future of student council and student leadership. After graduating middle school, I took the next step by running for Vice President of ASB, competing against my peers to serve and represent my school.

Soccer (Club & School)

At the start of middle school, I developed a passion for soccer. I joined VALOR Soccer, which serves communities in Auburn, Kent, Covington, Ravensdale, and beyond. This club was the foundation of my soccer journey, helping me grow as a player while forming lasting friendships. As I entered high school, I joined the Kentridge High School soccer team, further deepening my love for the sport.

DECA (VP of CD)

I am proud to serve as the Vice President of Career Development for my DECA chapter, where I help guide and support members in building their professional skills and preparing for competitive events. In this role, I organize workshops, provide mentorship, and create resources to help students grow in areas such as leadership, communication, and critical thinking. Working alongside my team, I am committed to fostering an environment where every member can succeed, achieve their goals, and take confident steps toward their future careers.

Kung Fu/Lion Dance

I am proud to train and perform with Mak Fai and their lion dance team, an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich tradition of lion dancing. Through countless hours of practice, I have developed not only the technical skills needed for dynamic performances but also a deep appreciation for the cultural significance behind each movement. Performing at various community events and celebrations, I help bring energy, good fortune, and joy to audiences, while honoring a tradition that connects generations and inspires cultural pride.

Franklin ASA/VSA

I am actively involved in Franklin High School’s Asian Student Association (ASA) and Vietnamese Student Association (VSA), where I help celebrate and promote Asian and Vietnamese culture within our school community. Through these clubs, I participate in organizing cultural events, performances, and educational activities that foster pride, understanding, and unity among students of all backgrounds. Being part of ASA and VSA has strengthened my leadership skills, deepened my cultural connections, and allowed me to contribute to a more inclusive and vibrant school environment.

GDPT Van Hanh (Buddhist & Vietnamese Teacher)

I am honored to perform with GDPT Van Hanh and other talented groups, where I have the opportunity to celebrate and preserve important cultural traditions. Through each performance, we share the beauty of our heritage with the community, promoting unity, pride, and a deeper appreciation for our roots. Being part of these meaningful events has strengthened my connection to my culture and allowed me to grow both personally and artistically.

AWSL

I am proud to be involved with AWSL (Association of Washington Student Leaders), an organization dedicated to empowering students across the state through leadership development and service opportunities. Through AWSL, I have participated in workshops, conferences, and collaborative projects that have strengthened my skills in communication, teamwork, and event planning. Being part of this community has allowed me to connect with student leaders from diverse backgrounds, grow as a leader, and make a positive impact both within my school and across Washington State.
